THE CHILDREN

Sangam School has 150 pupils aged 5 to 15 in classes from kindergarten to class 8. Girls are well-represented in a region where they are normally not given any formal education. Hindi is the medium for social subjects, English for technical subjects and science. Visitors from outside comment upon the children’s friendly self-assurance. Normally class 8 leavers all gain good passes (division 1 or 2) in the public examination.
